My name is Stephen Travers and my practice is called Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy & NLP. I am a fully qualified and accredited Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner and have a decades experience in working in the self development field with groups and one to one clients.
I am passionate and enthusiastic about learning and you can often find me reading books from spirituality to wealth creation from psychology to quantum physics or attending a seminar or training. Sometimes we be do our own events, presentations or workshops, so I will keep you posted on them too.

How Self Hypnosis can be the Procrasinator of Procrastination.
Over the years I have worked with many people using hypnosis and hypnotherapy to inspire and motivate them to set goals and to take action towards achieving them. Often times when working with clients the issue of procrastination comes up as a cause for their lack of results.
Most of us at some times in our lives have put off doing things we know could be benefical to both our short and long term futures. Some of us simply occupy ourselves with low priorty tasks, instead of doing the more important ones we know can bring greater rewards. This is commonly know as procrastination, in other words stalling or putting things off.
But heres an interesting idea to think about….. what if you could procrastinate about procrastinating???
It could be quite easy to do, especially if you are good at putting things off already. :)
For example, how about putting off the the procrastination maybe till Saturday or Sunday evening and get the high priority stuff done today or as much of you can of it. You can procrastinate all you want on Saturday night.
I suggest this idea half in jest, but seriously too. Take control of the procrastination by procrastinating on it, and in the meantime go and do your things which will enhance your life, health or business, whatever they may be. Sometimes, it can that be that easy to change it.
So why do people procrastinate? Well there are many reasons. First of all, as humans beings the two primary emotions that motivate us are Pain and Pleasure. And depending on what we associate pain and pleasure too, they can have a significant impact on the results we get in our lives.
So what are you imagining when you think about the things that you procrastinate on? Are you associating feeling of success, pleasure, joy or boredom, drugdery, frustration etc..? If you think of whatever it is you procrastinate on, chances are your associating negative thoughts and feeling to it in some way or the other.
So, how can you harness the power of hypnosis to change things?
Well, one way is to take control of the pain and pleasure prinicples ,so they can actually work in your favour from now on.
One way of doing that is to ask ourselves better questions?
Albert Einstein once said ‘The quality of the answers we get in life, depends on the quality of questions we ask ourselves’.
‘So take a two or three minutes now to answer the following questions. Imagine as best you can the answers to these questions. You can close your eyes as you answer each question as this will help you to be in a light trance, to visualise and feel your emotions.
So go ahead now and don’t procrastinate on doing this exercise : )
What is the procrastination costing me in my life?
What I am losing out on because of it?
What will it continue to cost me or lose out on over the next year? Over the next 3 years? Over the next 5 years? Etc...
Whats the ultimate price you could pay if you were to keep procrastinating?
What will be the benefits and what will you gain when you get things done ?
Whats important to you about those benefits ?
How good will you feel when you achieve your final outcomes?
Imagine what you could be, do or have, when you gain all the possible positive outcomes.
After you do this exercise its important to focus the positive outcomes and to put some sort of plan in place to take action toward them. Even if it means just a small amount of time per day to focus on the higher priorities. If you ever find yourself procrastinating, think and feel about what it is costing you, then imagine and feel all the good benefits you will gain when you have the higher priorities completed. This is great way to create inner propulsion to move you forward and for taking action on your goals.
From a business perspective, I can appreciate how busy self employed, business owners and entrepreneurs can be. It can be easy to get bogged down with the day to day runnings of your business. The key is to organise your day, everyday, to focus on higher priorties which will help you grow, expand and achieve more.
I think the human behavioural expert Dr. John Demartini gives us great advice when he says,
'Dedicate your life to a cause that inspires you and also greatly serves others. Master plan your life. If you don't fill your day with high priorities it will automatically become filled with low priorities.'
Obviously, what we covered here is just a fraction of what we can achieve in a one to one hypnosis session. There are many other powerful tools, strategies and techniques we can use to get you the results you specifically want.

How to use Hypnosis
with the Law of Attraction.
Firstly, I assume you have heard of the Law of
Attraction. If not please let me explain. The Law of Attraction
really explains why and how we attract certain things, people or
situations into our life through our thoughts, feelings and
behaviours. What I would like to focus on in this newsletter is how
we can use the power of hypnosis focus you thoughts on what you want
and to get a feeling experience ot it too before it even happens.
The Law of Attraction states that like attracts
likes and that you get what you focus on in terms of what you
consistently think and imagine. The problem is that many of us are in
the habit of focusing on what we don't want. In other words people
can be focusing on their negative past experiences, the things that
are missing in their lives, imagining things going wrong or being difficult in the future. Some people call this worrying. Remember,
the law of attraction states like attracts like, which means these
negative thoughts can be attracting more negativity into your life.
From a scientific perspective we now have evidence
for this too. Think about this, your nervous system cannot tell the
difference between whats real and what you vividly imagine. In other
words you feel what you vivldly imagine, just as if you were
actuallty experiencing it in real time. The implications are immense
when you comprehend fully what this means, in regards to what you
focus on in your imagination.
For me, hypnosis is one of the best tools to use
to learn how to explore,control and direct your imagination in
powerful life enhancing ways.
Even the great scientist and genius Albert
Einstein said
'Imagination is more important that knowledge'.
So what can you do to get the Law of Attraction
working for you in postive ways?
Think of any area of your life were you would like
a positive change or transformation.
Choose any area , so it could be for example your
health, finances, career, relationships, confidence levels.
Ask yourself the following questions and really
imagine in detail the answers.
So...
What have the positive transformations been in
your health, finances, career , relationship, confidence levels and
overall life?
What have you achieved?
What new people, circumstances or things are you
experiencing around you ?
What positive emotions are you feeling?
What are you seeing, hearing and feeling?
What type of person have you become?
Really step into these thoughts, images and
feeling as if you can experience them now. Make the images big,
bright and colourful as if you are living in the movie of your
successes. Imagine you there seeing through your own eyes and feel
the positive emotions inside your body.
The above visualisation is good to do as you drift
off asleep at night and first thing in the morning when you wake.
Even if you only do it for a few moments or so its helping you go
into a more postive feeling state.
As your visualizations become clearer and more
specific you will find you start noticing possible opportunities
around you in the form of people, situations or things that could
help you achieve and create your vision.
By closing your eyes and imagining achieving your
dreans and goals you are actually doing a form of self hypnosis. Even
if your visualization are not completely clear its important to feel
good when thinking about your dreams and goals as this is sending out
positive energy will help attract more postive things to you. And
remember keep taking action everyday towards your goals even if it
just baby steps like a phone call, some research or email.
